As some of you will know I used to own a record shop in Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire called Diskits. A big part of Diskits was that myself and all who worked for me loved to stand and chat about music, whatever kind. Many regulars would spend hours talking about their favourite songs, albums or singles. I heard yesterday that one of my old regular customers Mick Payne recently passed away. Mick was a great guy who loved to talk about his passion Northern Soul, he called in most days when out walking his dog "Sophie" and was always on the look out for anything new from the Northern scene. He had many memories to share and we would ramble on about this tune or that, remembering the old DJs and generally having a great old time.

So I thought it would be nice to remember some of those great Northern tunes.
