So the world of rock has yet again lost one of its finest. It appears that Keith Emerson may have shot himself and has sadly passed away. Keith was probably one of the greatest keyboard players of his age. Ranking alongside rock greats like Rick Wakeman and Jon lord. Each being a master in the prog rock idiom.
Keith Emerson could play every conceivable type of music ranging from honky-tonk through classical to out and out rock. As one third of Emerson Lake and Palmer he is most likely best remembered for their 1977 worldwide hit single "Fanfare for the Common Man" that was the bands cover of Aaron Copeland's classical piece.
As the days go by I'm sure we will get to here more surrounding the circumstances of Keith's death, but as for now all I can say is thank you Keith for leaving us the legacy of your music.
