If you have not heard of George Martin you most certainly will have heard of some of the music and artists other than The Beatles that he was involved with producing or arranging. George himself was a talented musician and composer, writing many film and television scores, winning several Grammy awards.
George pretty much single-handed turned Parlophone records from a small label putting out novelty and classical releases to a major player having strings of hits in the sixties and seventies. Among his earliest work he produced some of Britain's greatest comedians, including Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan and Bernard Cribbens.
So much has been said elsewhere by people much more knowledgeable than me so all I will say is that without his talent we may not have had the great music that came from the likes of The Beatles and many many more. Just check out the long list of stuff he produced on Wikipedia
