Record Store Day 2016

So it will soon be RSD Record Store Day again fairly soon and this will either excite or disappoint collectors of vinyl in equal amounts. The lists are starting to circulate both sides of the pond with the usual amount of re-releases on multiple coloured vinyls or in special packaging, The major labels again dominate the lists though there are quite a few smaller labels taking part as well.

Topic have a very interesting release with a cover of Booker T's "Green onions" by folk legends  Simpson, Cutting & Wright.

Another folk release is a re-issue of the classic E.P. "English sons volume 2" by Shirley Collins on Fledgling records.

Also there is a re-issue of Michael Chapman's 1976 LP "Savage amusement" again this is one that has not been on vinyl for many years and original copies are very collectible.

And surely one of the most exiting releases for folkies must be Christy Moore's "Paddy on the road" with copies of the original LP rarer than the proverbial hen's teeth this will be a hard one to resist in 180g vinyl with a bonus download code.

I have concentrated on just a few UK folk releases from this years list, though once again there is something for everyone, including some re-issue Fall singles and all three Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoffs Under the covers releases that come in 2LP sets in three different translucent vinyl.

So if you want to see the full UK list follow this link to RSD2016
